The factory standard 2250 Walkaround (Sterndrive) is fitted with a V6 4.3 litre MPI Mercruiser Alpha, which is rated to 220 hp. This combination delivers both fuel economy (approx 15-20 litres per hour) and high-end performance (approx 43mph). A V8 5.0 litre MPI Mercruiser Alpha can be optionally fitted to gain an additional 10 mph top-end speed and improved torque.

The outboard version of the 2250 Walkaround can be fitted with a 200 hp or 225 ph 2 Stroke or 4 Stroke outboard. Although higher fuel consumption is the norm with this version in comparison to the sterndrive, a top-end speed of 55 mph (approx) can be attained with a 200 hp rig, giving you reduced time to and from that favourite fishing spot. Over 300 litres of fuel carrying capacity is an additional feature of the outboard version, which adds considerable range to those long distance trips.
